Yup - the thickness is the obvious one, but hard to spot without a direct comparison unless you spend too much of your life staring at dials of vintage Grand Seikos :) One trick with font-spotting is to look at the negative space formed inside closed letters such as the “A”.
That XAB271 bracelet is probably not full length as I counted 9+14 links(excluding both end links). I believe a full length one should be 12+14 links in total based on some examples I've seen previously (one of which was sold attached to a 6156-8000 you featured a few months ago).
Oh good catch! Yup. Same seller, relisted. Odd because I would have thought with the volume this seller lists they would just accept whatever the closing price was. Looking at the earlier auction it closed at 295,555, but the winning bid was canceled.
Impossible to say for certain, but I would be very surprised indeed if this account was shilling its own auctions. Maybe the winning bidder pulled out, maybe he received the watch and for some reason returned it, maybe the seller wasn’t happy with the closing price (but as said, I doubt it with this one).
On the Franz watch is it the thickness of the SPECIAL lettering that is the diffrence?

Also the font serifs on Special are missing or is it the poor resolution?
They are missing. Good spot :)
Ah nice I was only looking at the S and C that looked diffrent, would never have spotted this if you didn`t have mentioned it.👍

Oh that’s very useful to know Jacky - thanks! I should pay more attention to my own watches 🤣.
The 4522 seems to be the same watch from your 24 march newsletter and the same seller? Could it be a re-listing?

Does this mean the bidding was manipulated to make the price go up?

Ah I was watching this one but the spots bothered me 😅 so I made no bids. Hope to get on in the future because I like this ref.
