The late dial is still the big 44 and necessary for the collection. The current thinking seems to be to give up the 3 to 1 numbers vs the diashock for a better shot at a clean and sharp example
When you say "champagne", are you referring to the dial colour, or the sunburst finish?
Re the colour, sometimes these age, sometimes they don't. Re the finish, it can be really difficult to capture the sunburst finish well, especially if you don't want to blow the highlights and are using a softer light.
I'm guilty of taking some poor photos of this dial in the past, but I think the video shows it off pretty well :)
I meant the dial colour. Vaguely remember reading that the champagne colour is not age but how they were born, but this one would seem to dispute that !
Would be interested to have a read of that. Certainly in the catalogue shots there is no indication of any golden hue to the dials. There was a lovely one that sold last July that definitely had a pinkish hue, but there are way more Arabesques with dials like this one though.

RE: Approximate Inscription on the 4522-8000 (the characters are tiny and I could be wrong with the exact spelling of the name)
"Presented by Mishima Agricultural Cooperative Association"
A fun bit of provenance for any potential buyers!
Fantastic. Many thanks Harry!
It does appear to be right, and they also still seem to be an active organisation!

Is the arabesque not champagne enough?
