The thing I don't get is how in this day and age anyone could be so blind to the fact that "the internet never forgets"?
Both the original listing, and the edited one, are now on the Internet Archive - for all time. The original listing promoted a watch and accessories to Mr Wind's customers in a positive manner, albeit with many errors.
Regardless of how those who collect vintage Grand Seiko view it, the edited listing basically insults all his existing and potential customers by implying that they would have been idiots to buy a cheap watch that they should be embarrassed to be seen wearing in public.
So why the fuck did he list it in the first place?
But that is rhetorical. The reasons for listing it in the first place are as clear as the reasons for the edit to the description.
The delicious irony is that by my featuring it, it is almost inevitable that the watch will be sold in the next few days.
It’s so depressing how many basic mistakes (often reputable) Western sellers make with regards to vintage GS. It does smack of laziness and disinterest at this point...
Hope 43999 bad guy never tends to his pointy problem. He could be at least a second tier fraud. Needing money that bad, I don’t think he’s even Japanese
Agree about the missing medallions, but missing is far better than the gouged uneven replacement we see attempting to pass themselves off as “fully original”!
Wind
Elitism - wouldn’t buy any watch for any price.
That updated sales page is just 🫣

As with currency, the key to spotting a fake is to handle a ton of legit ones first. Only Gerald has done that for his western audience
Wrong reference numbers, fake potted histories... fakes are the least of our problems.
Thought while mowing the lawn:
There could be an underworld competition to get a watch past TGSG. 😆

Have to draw the line at missing medallions.
Also appreciate hearing about what you’re doing on IG. I’m FB only due to modern version Land and Expand business strategy

I have a 3k best of everything 62, except gouged medallion. It’s in a junk drawer
So you have four vintage GS 😉
Technically yes, but it was only bought to fill the gap between 57 and 44. Might give it to my favorite panhandler down at the gas station
