Hi Julian - I'm pretty sure that auction closed on-time. I watched it from my "watchlist" for the last 30 minutes or so. The snipe wouldn't have worked since Yahoo Auctions was completely broken at the time the auction was scheduled to finish (see this week's newsletter that has just gone out). Unfortunately, it's one of the few auctions from last week that didn't get relisted. I guess the seller was happy with the 100,000 Yen, and I'm sure the successful bidder was absolutely delighted!
I think there was a period of at least 3 hours where it was impossible to place any bids. Actually it was impossible to even see any individual auctions, but for some reason my watch list still worked, so I was just watching auctions close out at some ridiculous prices!
Pretty sure YJ will have informed the sellers of all the effected auctions. Quite a few have already been cancelled and relisted this morning.
The 4522-7000 auction ended an hour early, at a suspiciously round ¥100k. Irritated as I had a snipe bid on it.

I think YJ is broken. I'm getting an error on every auction, and not seen any bids placed on any of my watch list for the last couple of hours.
